2015 Gaming Resolutions

On New Year's Eve, numerous people create lists upon lists of resolutions, which are little promises one makes with his- or herself to do or complete certain actions before the end of the upcoming year. While I have my own list of basic resolutions (get my life in order, lose some weight, etc.), I thought it would be fun to create a few game-related resolutions for the blog. These were the first things that came to mind and I hope to tackle them throughout the year in one form or another.

Without further ado, here are my four gaming resolutions for 2015. If you have your own game-related resolutions for this year, go ahead and leave them in the comments below. I'd love to read and discuss them with you all.

FINISH SEVERAL PROJECTS
In 2014, I started a few different game-related projects, the most notable being my own fantasy heartbreaker, Dungeons Deep & Caverns Old. However, life took precedent and I never managed to finish any of them. Although I've abandoned projects in the past, I really want to complete these and release them in some form (probably as free PDFs). I hope to have at least Dungeons Deep & Caverns Old before next December.

EXPAND MY BOARD GAME COLLECTION
Last year, I became more involved with the board gaming side of our hobby, mostly due to the sudden influx of game shops opening in my area. Because of this, I've been slowly building my own board game collection, piece by piece over the past several months. However, I still feel like I have a long way to go, especially since my collection is still missing some of those essential games (like Carcassone, Settlers of Catan, etc.). So, I'm going to try and acquire more board games during the upcoming months, especially once I find a new job.

HELP DUNGEONS DEEP & CAVERNS OLD GROW
One of my big goals for 2015 is to see this little blog grow. I'd love to expand the schedule, posting more regularly and tackle more varied topics. Maybe even delve into podcasting and possibly a video series about tabletop gaming. However, this is more of a long term goal because I still have a long to go before I can make that a reality.

PLAY & RUN MORE GAMES
Because of certain events in 2014, I ended up having a gaming drought and didn't get to play or run as many games as I would like. I really hope to fix that this year. My current Shadowrun game will be coming to a close within a few weeks, but I already have a FATE Accelerated game in the works, taking place in the Dresden Files setting. I hope that will last for several months before switching over to Savage Worlds, Call of Cthulhu, Numenera, or possibly Pathfinder.
